Mazda6 vs Honda Accord
Drivers near Trevose, Langhorne, Bensalem, and Philadelphia may be looking for a comfortable and well-performing midsize car. While there are many options in the area, two popular ones are the Mazda6 and the Honda Accord. The question is, which one would be better for your needs and lifestyle?
To help answer that question, our team at Faulkner Mazda Trevose created this Mazda6 vs. Honda Accord comparison. Learn all about each vehicle below and contact us if you have any questions.
The Mazda6 and 2019 Honda Accord offer lots of technologies to help keep you connected and entertained.
For example, they each come standard with Pandora® technology and Bluetooth® capability. Not only will you have lots of music options, but you can also make phone calls hands-free.
However, the Mazda6 also comes standard with Aha™, Stitcher™, and HD Radio™ through the MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment System. The Honda Accord, meanwhile, only has HD Radio™, and you have to upgrade to a higher trim level to get it.
Both vehicles offer a trial subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. With over 100 music, sports, news, and comedy channels to choose from, you’ll always have something new and exciting to listen to. Plus, all your media options can be seen on an 8-inch full-color display screen on either model—however, you’ll have to opt for a higher trim level in the Honda Accord to get a screen that size.
The Honda Accord also has an available 10-speaker sound system, to let you easily hear your music and phone calls. It should be noted that the Mazda6 offers an 11-speaker Bose® Centerpoint® 2 Surround Sound audio system. As a result, you may hear your media options a bit more clearly in the Mazda6 as opposed to the Honda Accord.
The Mazda6 may not be a luxury vehicle, but its interior certainly makes it feel like one. It has a great-looking cabin with premium materials throughout, including:
- Nappa leather
- Sen wood
The Honda Accord is a great-looking vehicle, too. However, it does have a few low-grade plastics sprinkled throughout the cabin. As a result, it may not look as refined or elegant as the Mazda6.
Both automobiles offer a lot of amenities to help keep everyone comfortable. These include heated/ventilated front seats, along with heated rear seats. The Mazda6, though, does offer a heated steering wheel as well. This way you can keep your hands warm and relieve them after a long day.
Mazda6 vs Honda Accord Performance Specs
The Mazda6 and Honda Accord are great everyday vehicles, but the Mazda6 is one of the most fun-to-drive automobiles in its class. It feels grounded around turns and has impressive steering feel, which is especially great when driving on particularly winding roads.
The Mazda6 is quite powerful, too. That’s because it offers a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo 4-cylinder that delivers 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Plus, with a 16.4-gallon fuel tank capacity, you can enjoy the open road longer before needing to fill up at a gas station.
The Honda Accord is also fun to drive. It has sharp steering, handles well, and has a generally smooth drive. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as powerful as the Mazda6. While its optional 2.0L 4-cylinder engine does deliver 252 horsepower, it only manages to achieve 273 lb-ft of torque.
Additionally, it only has a 14.8-gallon fuel tank capacity. This means you’ll need to stop more frequently to get gas, preventing you from enjoying long stretches of open road.
Mazda6 vs 2019 Honda Accord: The Verdict
The Honda Accord is definitely an impressive vehicle. However, the Mazda6 offers more features and a better overall performance.
